I heard this song a couple of weeks ago, it's bey Relient K, and it's amazing because it honestly captures what Christmas is about to us now. I'll post the lyrics here...what do you think?
I Celebrate the Day
by Relient K
And with this Christmas wish is missed
The point I could convey
If only I could find the words to say to let you know
How much you've touched my life because
Here is where you're finding me
In the exact same place as New Years Eve
And from the lack of my persistency
We're less than half as close as I wanna be
And the first time that you opened your eyes
Did you realize that you would be my Savior
And the first breath that left your lips
Did you know that it would change this world forever
And the first time that you opened your eyes
Did you realize that you would be my Savior
And the first breath that left your lips
Did you know that it would change this world forever
And so this Christmas I'll compare
The things I've felt in prior years
To what this midnight made so clear
That you have come to meet me here
To look back
And think that
This baby would one day save me
And the hope that
That you give
That you were born so I might really live
To look back
And think that
This baby would one day save me?
And the first time that you opened your eyes
Did you realize that you would be my Savior
And the first breath that left your lips
Did you know that it would change this world forever
And the first time that you opened your eyes
Did you realize that you would be my Savior
And the first breath that left your lips
Did you know that it would change this world forever
And I
I celebrate the day
That you were born to die
So I could one day
Pray for you to save my life
Pray for you to save my life
Pray for you to save my life
i did not enjoy that
nothing special, honestly.
Good thought. The amazing part is, He knew before He took his first breath! Kinda that same concept as Mary Did You Know, only singing directly to Jesus.
Naa, sorry, didn't touch a nerve.
agree with lana and chelsea. dam time wasters
exactly...that's what I hate about religion as a whole. not saying brooke's this way (I know her personally and she's not at all pushy) I'm just generally speaking...I can't stand when people get bent out of shape knowing not everyone believes what they do...and trying to force their beliefs on others. I'm not saved, nor do I ever care to be. however, that has absolutely nothing to do with who I am as a person, so you either except it or you don't, just as I would any and everyone.
I agree with Jesse. The whole thing about it's from Jesus' perpsective, talking directly to Him. That touched me because usually Christmas songs are written as a prtrayal of this innocence and a baby which is great, and true, but this song brings in a whole new perspective about personal communication with jesus and not forgetting that.
And I understand how one wouldn't think it much different if they're not religious...that's what I meant by saying that it's amazing through a religious perspective
I think it's ok, I don't think that it made a whole lot of sense to me either, but I know why you say it makes sense. Thanks for posting the lyrics, though.
Oh, wonderful! That was the best christmas song I'd heard for a while. Lol! I know it's February, but hey, you can't ever stop being religious.
